The Button Farm Acrylic Album

While I was in Seattle at CKC, I picked up a few album kits from The Button Farm and finally got around to putting a few of them together.

I don't remember the exact name of this album, but it was too stinking cute to pass on. I'm sure if you want one of your own, you can email Angela and see if she can hook you up.

I had a bunch of paper and buttons left over, enough for several cards or even a page or two. I followed her directions pretty literally (full color!) but you could have lots of fun with this and do your own thing.

I think I'm going to put pictures from Addie's first Christmas this year in it.

Back from CKC in Seattle!

I had a great time hanging out with Liane, Shauna and Janelle for a few days at CKC Seattle. Got a chance to see the Space Needle and the Pike Place Market and got some amazing pictures that I'll post soon (or you can see on Face Book).

While I was there, I fell in love with this one company that I hadn't heard of before. I dropped about $125 at their booth on the first day, the day I said I wasn't spending any money. The best part of it all, was that I had to travel all the way from Portland, ME to Seattle, WA to find a company that is literally in the next town over.

Angela puts together these amazing kits, from some fantastic companies and she goes all out with embellishments and instructions.

I was fortunate enough to take one of her classes for the Good Things Album: http://thebuttonfarm.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=122

I did limit myself to four of her kits, which aren't show on her site, but I'll post as I finish.

Check out her site, tell her the girl from Maine in Seattle sent you. I promise you won't be disappointed!

The Lyrics of My Life.

Music lyrics have always had a special place in my life. Growing up I was rewarded for good grades by being able to buy records (yes, people, the big, round, vinyl albums). I remember being happy when I put on my records, from Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam to Michael Jackson's Thriller. They transported me to somewhere other than the basement of my parents house in Lisbon Falls. (Although the support pole in the basement was a wonderful prop when dancing to Tina Turner's "Private Dancer").

I've started a new album, something that is going to be personal, most of which I won't share here, at least not immediately. But some, the fun, happy pages I will. It's an album of the soundtrack of my life and the moments that I associate with the songs. I'd love to hear some of the songs of your life.

One of my favorite and soon to be a page which I will share is "Oceans Apart" by Richard Marx. The summer of 1989, when that song was playing on every station, I was at Samantha Smith World Peace Camp, a mere 2 miles from where I live now. It was a summer of meeting kids my age from all over the world, specifically from Russia. At the end of the summer, we knew we may never see each other again and that song held a special meaning for us.

Here is my opening page of my album. It makes me happy.

Paper is Crate Paper (Seaweed, Kate and Holly collections) and Cosmo Cricket (Doc Holiday). Stamps are Unity Stamps, Punches are from Fiskars. Paper flowers and buttons are CTMH.

And then on another topic: I LOVE this stamp set from Unity. Love it! I know Halloween is still a little further away but I couldn't resist playing with it.

Paper and ink are CTMH, Stamps are Unity, Fiskars punch and ribbon is from the dollar bin at Target.

A Saturday of Making Cards.

This past Saturday I had my first card class here at the house and we made the Twitterpated kit. These are fabulous. Not only did the kit come with enough for 6 cards and 2 12x12 pages, but there are enough supplies left for double that. It's a great value and a fantastic way to get together with friends and have a girl's day out. I'm booking these classes all the time and you currently have four to choose from. If you want to reserve your date, email me. (Did I mention I do all the cutting, you just accent and decorate and put together!) Classes are also pre-paid, meaning you can earn hostess benefits!!!
Here are the three card classes I've done thus far, as well as my pages for the Twitterpated kit. (The pictures on these pages were taken by the girls! Fantastic photographers!)

Sweet Home Class

Grace Class

And the rest (because I couldn't stop myself!!)

This was made with the paper kit "Moon Doggie" and My Acrylix "Tropical Christmas"
This is with paper pack "Back Country" and My Acrylix "Beary Best"

My Best Friends Bday!

My BFF's birthday was Friday and I wanted to do something special for her, so I made up one of the CTMH My Creations 3-Ring Binders. It turned out WICKED cute!

I used the CTMH paperpack "Bella" and mostly CTMH accessories, plus a few from my stash.
Specifically from CTMH - Just Blooms Paper Flowers, Clear Inspirations Acrylic Accents Tags, Autumn Garden & White Daisy Mini Medley Accents, Clear Craft Buttons, Clear Sparkles, and Nature's Ambience Rub Ons. If you're interested in one of these for your own, let me know!

Sweet Addison - baby announcements

My brother, Jay and sister-in-law, Erin gave me a beautiful niece on July 3rd. I made up some baby announcements for her and I'm really happy how they turned out. That being said, when you have someone as cute as Addie as a focal point, it's not hard for everything else to look fabulous alongside her.
I used three different background papers, all of them from a stack pack I got at Big Lots for $5. It's from Pressed Petals and has glitter on it. Perfect for a little girl. The picture was taken by my Evil-Step Mom (yes, it's a term of endearment... ESM for short), Lorri, on the day Addison came home from the hospital.

Be Yourself

Another cool creative morning here in Maine. I'm on a roll it seems. I've had this set for a while and wanted to crack it open, but couldn't find the inspiration until now.
Everything is CTMH, with the exception of the twine, which is from my stash and the sentiment which is from The Paper Company Studio. CTMH stamp set is D1349 - Be Yourself.
